Overcoming By the Word of Your Testimony

Our Mentoring & Support Group which has been so graciously hosted by Janice Owens since our President, Pastor Al Sabin III went to heaven on December 24, 2018.

We thank Janice and Mari Plump as they have been a blessing to our ladies through this transition.

We had testimonies by Janice, Mari, Julie and our own Courtney & Keishanda
Easter Sunday serving at our Church Pantry
As we grow in the power and anointing of the Spirit of God we find our testimony becomes more precious. Nothing can replace the experience of receiving Jesus as Saviour and Lord. We remind ourselves when we share what God has done for us and others can be set free as they hear it!
Courtney was able to overcome many obstacles life gave her. God has changed her world. No longer does she rely on self or the world for her supply. The Lord has blessed her since she was able to allow Him to changed her life around. She has learned after facing death, imprisonment and addiction that the way of the Master is better. Now a licensed Hair Stylist, she is also married with three children. Opportunities to share her testimony have included churches, radio broadcast, and a local alternative school for at-risk kids. The coping skills she learned, she's been able to teach others. Her life was not only restored but increased!!

Keishanda had adversity from birth. She felt the rejection of being born out of wedlock. Even though she persevered to go to college, heartbreak once again was waiting. Her need to escape the pain led to addiction. Relationships were difficult to manage as she became led by her feelings of hurt and abandonment. Being left as a single mother was not the only challenge, she also found her son was diagnosed with Autism and considered non-verbal. The only place she could turn was to her roots of being in church. As the Lord led her back to church, she heard Courtney's testimony and knew that she could make it. She took the step to come to our Mentoring & Support Group and never looked back. Today she has seen God do miracles in her and her son's life. He now speaks in sentences and is an example of the power of God. She is working in a management position in her company and a faithful member of church, serves and continues to be a part of group.

Giving back is a great way to put our issues aside and bless others. In life we have trouble but knowing the power of the resurrected Saviour can change everything!! We continue to work with women who struggle with addiction. God sends them to us and He changes them, but we are able to pour into them, encourage them, pray with them and love on them. There will be more testimonies to come . . .

2nd Annual Banquet & Dessert Auction

"Lighting Up Our Community"

The evening of local organizations, churches and community members coming together in unity to support women in crisis and need of assistance. Focusing on spiritual and physical needs, the Daughters of Naomi Embraced Women's Ministry brings awareness as well as support to South Bend and beyond.

Many times there is a need but no one knows where to go . . . we are changing that in our area. Connecting women to counseling, employment assistance, financial assistance and housing. Currently our goal is to purchase a house to help women have a safe place to live and recover. Partnering with other organizations that have women's health, wholeness and security in mind, it has been a great year!

We welcomed the new Director of the St. Joseph County Right to Life, Jackie Appleman as our guest. Supporting this organization is an important part of showing women we stand for life! For the past three years we have volunteered at the Right to Life outreach booth at the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair. Attending their prayer dinner this year was a blessing and we celebrate their campaign to pray as well as informing women of alternatives like adoption to end abortion.

We address issues of addiction, abuse and abandonment through empowering women, teaching them biblical principles, practical living and financial independence.

Pastor Jack Smith opened the evening with prayer over the event and dinner.

Daughters of Naomi Embraced welcomes Pastor Jack Smith

What an incredible testimony of healing, deliverance & divine revelation! Pastor Jack Smith was gracious enough to come and share from the depths of his heart his testimony. God literally came down and spoke to Him as well as revealed himself in a powerful way. The scripture he was led to before he even knew the Word was Romans 10:9 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved."

Not only was Jack radically saved, but filled with divine knowledge. As the room filled up, our eyes did too. The powerful story of his abusive and addictive background including neglect as a child and abandonment culminating in visions of Jesus, angels and demonic spirits was riveting. But the most moving part of his life was a lonely, broken little boy who found a love he'd never known. Becoming a man on fire for God was the change Jack needed to turn his life around.

He began sharing his new experience and faith with others. After finding out about church, other Christians and being mentored, Jack was able to not only lead many to the Lord but also went to Bible college, established churches and became a pastor. My husband and I met Pastor Jack and attended his church for six years. He currently holds services online and is a great friend of the ministry.

Daughter of Naomi Embraced at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship

Speaking on the ministry at a local church in South Bend

Being the "light in the darkness" takes #1 Acknowledging God is light and there is no darkness in Him #2 God is the source of light and He fills us with His light when we accept Him as our Lord #3 We are children of the light and we should walk in it. Only through walking in the light can we expose the darkness & offer redemption to those who are lost and walking in darkness.

Testimony is powerful when the experiences show the person God is the only way to live a life of  joy & freedom! Courtney's story of God's saving, healing & delivering power will give hope to the hopeless and encouragement to those struggling.
Even those that had a Christian home can stray and following the deceiving voice of the enemy. Steve's story of coming to a realization that without God he would not be able to overcome his addiction and destructive lifestyle. God not only restored him but blessed him beyond his belief.

Mentoring & Support Group Pastor Mark Lantz from Christian Center Teaching

Image may contain: 1 person, sitting and indoor "The size of your challenges will determine the size of the influence you leave on this world." Now, you think, why would that matter to me? I have no influence. My friend, I must tell you we all have influence on someone. Whether it be your family, friends, workplace, church or those you casually come in contact with in your area. What kind of influence are you?
Our Pastor, Mark Lantz from our home church, came to teach our women at our group meeting on Tuesday, August 28th and brought a powerful and encouraging message on Living Through a Paradigm Shift. His context was from Joshua Chapter 1 verses 2 through 6.

Pastor Mark's reference to Joshua, who came after Moses, a leader of the Hebrews, was able to see what other's couldn't see. He was a spy who went into Canaan to see what was there. He held onto the promise God gave him in Joshua 1:3 "Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you as I said unto Moses."

"The reason some people never grow is because they are never willing to change their mindset away from what got them to where they are, to get a mindset of where they need to go."

"You can never change what is in your hand until you change what is in your head." Dr. Mark Lantz

YOU MUST BE SECURE IN WHO YOU ARE

Joshua 1:5-6 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, [so] will I be with thee: I will not forsake thee 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people thou shalt divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Secure people learn what to give. Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bossom. For the same measure that you mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

You must increase your circle of people who are better than you. Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise [men] shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

BE BOLD ENOUGH TO DO SOMETHING YOU'VE NEVER DONE

Change takes guts.

The challenges you are going to face -
People are comfortable with mediocrity - go through a shift, but can't accept it
People are fearful of what they don't know
