Sisters of Strength Mentoring & Support Group

As we move through the second month of the new year I like to define what we are doing . . .
Minister Leigh Prathaftakis leading the teaching

Mentoring: The Bible clearly instructs women to instruct those that are younger (1st Peter 5:5), but also tells us to declare His mighty acts (Ps. 145:4) and share wisdom (Prov. 9:9). In Titus 2 speaks about teaching & behavior, those that have experience, being an example to the younger, inexperienced in humility and representing the Word of God with honor.

Support: This can be summed up by the scripture in Galatians 6:2 "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
If we encourage each other and help carry each others' weight or concerns then we are imitating Jesus. When you see someone helping, it should inspire you to
assist them as well. The Bible says in 1st Peter 4:8-10 "Above all keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hosptitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."

There are many other scriptures in Ecclesiastes and Hebrews that talk about lifting each other up and encouraging each other. When women get together that been through some things and can help those younger going through those things, ah, how much of an impact we can make on this generation.

To me, young lives (any lives for that matter) are very precious and impressionable to the point idle words, loose talk, improper actions all can lead to destructive behavior and attitudes. Being careful in how you represent our Lord is not only wise, but can steer a life towards Him. The opposite is true as well. We are responsible for being light, salt and an ambassador for Christ in this world. How about your city or home?

We are blessed to be able to touch other's lives, now we need to be sure what kind of imprint we are leaving . . . we have been entrusted with the gospel an He find us faithful to the end.

Daughters of Naomi Embraced mid-week service at New Creation Fellowship

New Creation Fellowship Granger, Indiana                                            Wednesday, December 7, 2016

Thank you to Pastors Arnie & Mindy Klahr for opening their church to us on their Wednesday night service. We are humbled to call them friends and they have been such a blessing to the ministry!

There are times in our lives we meet those that have impacted our life in a special way. The love, friendship and like precious faith of these great people of God have encouraged our women to stand up for Jesus! Last week we visited New Creation Fellowship and were so happy to have testimony time. Also, our fellow mentor & sister in Christ, Leigh Prathaftakis, wife of Pastor Lance Prathaftakis, former Youth Pastor and Elders ministered in song, "If We're Honest". What a beautiful way to begin the evening.

Courtney shared her story of abuse, addiction and redemption.

For the first time, Keishanda opened up about her life of rejection, addiction and salvation. She was able to give God glory for what he brought her through and the blessing that came as a result of turning to Christ.

Another first-time public testimony, Whitney, who growing up in church had to find the Lord through tragedy, rebellion and finally submitting to Jesus.

Pastor Jeaneen Klahr, the founder, along with her husband Pastor Dave Klahr were also in the house and presented gifts to our ladies! We were overwhelmed by the support and giving of this beautiful body of Christ. We love them and pray that the blessing of God overtakes them all!!

The Daughter of Naomi Embraced ministers to hurting and broken women who need a safe place to be loved, nurtured and empowered to live for Christ.
